Class Description

This class will cover all the basics! We will look into what exactly henna is and how it has been used throughout history, you will be taught how to mix your own 100% natural henna paste, how to roll and fill your own henna cones for application, and receive hands-on instruction on skillfully applying henna designs, as well as learning the do's & don'ts of proper aftercare to obtain the best stain possible.

Materials needed

All class materials will be included in fee. Each participant will receive a handout containing instructions and recipe for mixing henna, aftercare instructions, a piece of medical tape to cover designs, a fresh henna cone for practice on their own, and a page of simple designs and design elements in a reusable practice sleeve.

This class is for anyone who appreciates beauty, creative body adornment, and exploring art from other cultures. Ages 10+

Erin W. Ernst, a Sarasota native, has had a life-long love of art. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the University of South Florida in 2004 and enjoys all varieties of art-making. She began dabbling in henna as an art form about 10 years ago, and has grown to love the medium.
